Covington: New Look, New Name, Same Great Care!

Formerly known as Outpatient Physical Therapy, PNWSI Covington has been treating athletes of all levels and ages for years.

Undergraduate: BS in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University 

Graduate School: Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Utah 

Certifications: CSCS, WA state CTE teaching certificate

Clinical Specializations/Interests: SCS and OCS 

Why I love being a PT: 

I love seeing the smiles on people's faces as they get back to the "sports of their lives."

How I stay active: 

I teach a sports medicine class at Tahoma High School and am a part of the sports medicine team for the school. Chasing my 2 children around. 

Interests: Sports, gym workouts, camping, family activities and outings, the sun, working in the yard, and chasing Bigfoot 

One word that describes me: Dedicated 

Favorite vacation spot: Cabo or the lake house

Clinical Specializations/Interests: 

Since I just started, I am still exploring what I am truly interested in. But I am excited to learn more as I grow!

Why I love being a PT: 

Physical therapy is such an interesting avenue of medicine. Humans are built to move and do amazing things and I want to see people doing that. We come up with solutions that not only work but are long term and can even be cost effective. Being able to spend time and build relationships with my patients is just a plus.

How I stay active: 

I used to do karate as a kid and just recently got into kickboxing. I am excited to get better and further explore the world of martial arts.

Interests: I enjoy playing video games, drawing and painting

One word that describes me: Reserved

Undergraduate: BS in Exercise and Sports Science from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Graduate School: Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Midwestern University (Downers Grove, IL) 

Certifications:   No certifications yet, but I plan to work towards receiving my OCS and SCS as well as becoming a USATF certified running coach! 

Clinical Specializations/Interests: 

My clinical interest includes working with athletes of all kinds and all ages return to and prepare for the sport that they love. As a former collegiate distance runner, my area of expertise is helping runners bring their performance to the next level! 

Why I love being a PT: 

I love PT because it allows me to help keep patients active in the sport of their life! I take a great deal of pride in my role in the rehab process and enjoy the individualized nature of each patient’s recovery. 

How I stay active: 

The majority of my free time is spent outdoors. I continue to be an avid runner training for races from 5K to the marathon and continuing to push myself to be the best runner I can be. In the winter, I enjoy skiing any chance I get! 

Interests: running, skiing, fly fishing, watching sports.

Why I love being a PTA: 

I love helping people get back to their most loved activities whether it is running a marathon or walking around the block. 

How I stay active: 

Playing basketball and going on runs are my favorite ways to stay active

Interests: TV, sports, running, and cooking

Clinical Specializations/Interests: fascial connective tissue and how it connects to everything in our bodies 

Why I love being a PTA: 

I get to be an influence on someone's recovery and how to get people back to doing what they love.  

How I stay active: 

I have 2 daughters so that keeps me busy.  Ha ha but I do love playing soccer, going snowboarding riding bikes (mountain or road) and taking my kids to the trampoline park. 

Interests: video games, anime, rock climbing, frisbee golf and snowboarding

  Education:  

Currently a senior with one semester to go at Washington State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.

Certifications:   

: Received associates degree at Bellevue College during high school through running start program.

Clinical Specializations/Interests: 

Will apply for grad school in the near future to receive a doctorate in physical therapy. The dream goal is to be a physical therapist for a major sports team. 

Why I love being a Tech: It allows me to interact with patients and make connections with them while also assisting them towards recovery. I love seeing the progress through patients from when they first started physical therapy. Being a tech also gives me a clinical experience that I can learn in for when I apply for grad school for physical therapy. 

How I stay active: 

Going to the gym, playing in an adult league soccer, playing pick-up basketball games.

Interests: Weightlifting, thrifting, jersey-collecting, watching sports, traveling, card games
